ABOUT - FREDERICIA SHIPPING

OUR HISTORY AND VALUES

Fredericia Shipping A/S is a family-owned and family-managed company, founded in 1973 by Niels Jørgen Andersen. Since 1996, the company has been led by the second generation, Klaus G. Andersen, and in 2021, the third generation joined the management with Amalie Laigaard Andersen.

With more than 50 years of experience, we combine deep industry knowledge with strong local roots. This strong family foundation continues to shape our values, our long-term vision, and our commitment to being a reliable partner for our customers.

Strategic locations

Our headquarters are located at the Port of Fredericia, where east-west and north-south bound rail and road traffic intersect. This central position enables efficient access to our operating areas for both external and internal drivers.

To meet increasing demands for space and operational capacity, we established Taulov Container & Rail Terminal just 6 kilometers away. Covering 150,000 m² of concrete area with three fully functional 600-meter rail tracks, around 10,000 m² of warehouse space, and office/service facilities, Taulov has become an important strategic hub — with further expansions planned. Today, we provide around 10,000 m² of warehouse capacity at Taulov, and a new hall is currently under construction to further increase available storage space.

Together with our sister company Schultz Shipping A/S and affiliated companies, we provide integrated logistics, agency, and terminal solutions across Denmark through our own organizations in many of the country’s best-located industrial ports. These include Fredericia, Taulov, Aarhus, Lindø/Odense, Kalundborg, Grenaa, Aalborg, Copenhagen, Nakskov, Rødby, and Masnedø/Vordingborg — as well as international locations such as Hamburg, Rostock, Gdańsk, and Szczecin.

INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT

As part of our continuous development, we strive to remain at the forefront of the industry by investing in modern technology and greener transport solutions. This includes introducing Denmark’s first electric reach stacker for container handling and promoting rail transport as a sustainable alternative to road haulage.

By exploring such projects, we aim to strengthen our services and adapt to the changing needs of our customers and the industry. Our goal is to build long-term partnerships with customers, based on transparency, mutual respect, and win-win collaboration.
